The New Most Dangerous Job in America; How About Pharmacist?

Robberies at the local pharmacy involve medication but rarely money. That’s because prescription pill addicts have only one thing on their mind and that’s getting more pills. Much like a gas station clerk or bank teller who may be faced with someone trying to rob money, a pharmacist is perhaps even more likely to be confronted by someone looking for pain medication. Many people who do not use pain medications wonder what the pills are that these guys are stealing. Below is a list of some of the more popular choices fior pill thieves.

1.) Oxycodone- opium based products are generally what pill thieves are after and “oxys” are certainly no different. Those with a doctor prescription most likely just had surgery or have some other form of pain that is short term. For some people, they like oxys a little too much after that initial prescription and feel the need to keep taking more. In fact, if their primary doctor won’t give them more, a real addict is going to get these pills any way he can.

2.) Codeine- This is generally the most prescribed pain killer in the United States. Prescriptions are handed out to treat all manner of body pain, including pain relief from the extraction of wisdom teeth. There is a risk of dependancy with codeine as is true with all opium based pain relievers. These pills are essentially tricking the brain into thinking that pain feels good. For some people, this is not a feeling they are willing to let go of and when they can’t get these pills by legal means, it’s possible they will look to take the drugs.

Interestingly, these pain pills also have some of the worst side effects including nausea and vomiting. Some people simply will not touch these medications because of those side effects. Other people want nothing more than to get their hands on more.
